Our Rehearsals

Rehearsals at London Ballet Theatre are primarily scheduled over the weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays. As a premier performance company, we are dedicated to providing our dancers with exceptional training and coaching. Our team includes some of the world’s best teachers, ensuring that each rehearsal session maximizes the potential and artistry of our performers, preparing them to excel on stage.

  • Join us every Saturday at Steps Studios in Angel for our corps de ballet sessions, led by the fantastic team of Sandra Corsini, Christina Mittelmaier, and Nicolas Capelle. With extensive professional experience, they bring exceptional expertise and care to every session.

    Our Saturday rehearsals run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with some sessions extended from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm when needed.

    At London Ballet Theatre, we are committed to maintaining the highest quality in our training and productions while keeping our fees as low as possible. This ensures every dancer has the opportunity to learn and perform the choreography before roles are finalised, fostering a comprehensive, supportive and inclusive environment.

  • Join us for our Sunday rehearsal sessions focused on solos and pas de deux at Steps Studios in Angel, expertly guided by the exceptional Acaoã Castro and Sandra Corsini. Every Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, they bring their profound expertise and experience to provide specialised, focused coaching, helping dancers refine their technique, artistry and performance quality in both solo and duet work.

This festive season, London Ballet Theatre (LBT) is honoured to share our artistry across some of the capital’s most prestigious stages — performing at the British Film Festival Awards Show and Ceremony, hosted at the World Renewables celebration at Pinewood Studios, the legendary home of cinematic history where productions such as James Bond and Harry Potter were filmed.
Alongside this landmark appearance, LBT will present two distinguished performances for the Lord Mayor of Westminster and bring the magic of live ballet to audiences with theatre shows — a true season of celebration, storytelling, and sparkle.

Meet the Teachers

  • Christina-Maria Mittelmaier

    Christina is a London-based ballet teacher, coach and choreographer, and a former professional dancer and champion rhythmic gymnast. She began training in RAD ballet at six, alongside gymnastics, and as a teenager was twice named “Athlete of the Year” (1985 & 1986). She later studied on scholarship at the State School of Dance in Athens, focusing on Vaganova technique as well as Graham and José Limón contemporary methods, alongside additional training in contemporary and tap.

    After graduating, Christina performed in classical and contemporary productions across Greece, Germany, Hungary and the United States. In the US, she danced soloist roles with Ballet Austin in major works including Don Quixote, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, and also performed with Tapestry Dance. She additionally served as choreographer and coach for the Cyprus national rhythmic gymnastics team, taking athletes to major international competitions including the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and was a certified national judge in the discipline.

    With over 30 years’ experience, Christina has taught and coached everyone from beginners to professional dancers, actors and elite athletes. Her career includes company classes and teaching roles with Ballet Austin and its Academy, and in London she has held senior posts including Head of Ballet at D&B School of Performing Arts, as well as teaching at Morley College, Birkbeck, Danceworks Ballet Academy and the London Contemporary Dance School at The Place. She continues to develop her expertise through ongoing professional training (including Pilates and Progressing Ballet Technique), teaches at Pineapple and Danceworks, has been faculty at Impact Dance Academy since 2021, and coaches dancers privately for performances, auditions and vocational entry—while at London Ballet Theatre she sets classical repertoire and coaches dancers in rehearsals.

  • Acaoã De Castro

    Born in Brazil, he began his studies at six and graduated from Hellô Ballet, directed by Heloísa Randis, and Especial Academia under Guivalde de Almeida and Jorge Peña. He was part of the São Paulo Companhia de Dança from 2011 to 2013, directed by Iracity Cardoso and Inês Bogéa. In 2014, he joined the Ballet Nacional del SODRE under Julio Bocca, performing in national and international tours. He has worked with choreographers including Kenneth Macmillan, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Anne-Marie Holmes, John Cranko, Natalia Makarova, Mario Galizzi, Jiří Kylian, Ronald Hynd, William Forsythe, Demis Volpi, Marcia Haydée, Rodrigo Pederneiras, Gemma Bond, Francesco Ventríglia, Henrique Rodovalho, and George Balanchine. Alongside his dancing career, he teaches and rehearses at various Brazilian schools.

    Currently he is Senior Artist with Ballet Black directed by Cassa Pancho.
